Dear TSOA property owners,

Welcome new homeowners and property owners! Tanglewood Shores is growing and it is wonderful to have new neighbors!

That being said, it is an unfortunate announcement that the board must share:
Due to the extreme drought and Stage 4 water restrictions it is with great regret to notify all that we are unable to open the pool at this time. If Comal County gets sufficient rains and the restrictions are lifted we will revisit opening the pool. The Stage 4 water restrictions read as follows:

“CRITICAL CONDITIONS. Rules prohibit all outdoor water use except for uses necessary to sustain livestock and/or vegetable gardens and fruit orchards primarily for household use. Variance requests for new sod and/or landscaping will not be approved.”

The board did take our case to the water company and were told it was an absolute “no” for use of any water whatsoever in regard to the pool. The alternative of trucking in water was pursued.

The cost with present pool membership dues is way beyond the TSOA budget. If pool fees were raised from the present $100/ family to $150/family and we had 50+ property owners in good standing sign up, then the pool could be opened, if the present water trucking rates and maintenance fees remain as they were in the bids we received mid-April. The park will be mowed initially by a landscaping service; volunteers for mowing and weed eating the park area are requested. Please notify us via the pool email shown above if you can help. The water remaining in the pool will be chlorinated and outfitted with solar fountains to provide surface movement in an effort to deter mosquitos.

We unfortunately have another problem we need to deter – theft and vandalism. One of the iron patio tables was taken and the 911 emergency phone was torn off the wall leaving only bare wiring. This occurred at night in the off-season. Please help us monitor the pool and park area. If you see something or someone, report the problem to the sheriff.

The annual meeting will be held Saturday, July 19th at 7 pm. Positions are open on the board. We encourage volunteers to put themselves up for nomination or encourage others.
